Indianapolis music fans know Andrew Young as a long-running R&B vocalist who performs around the city and maintains a weekly DJ residency at Broad Ripple's Landsharks nightclub.
Outside Indiana, online listeners are gravitating to Young's music.
He's racked up 25,000 followers at Spotify and 10,000 followers at Instagram.
There's little overlap, however, between people who attend Young's shows and people who listen to his studio recordings. It could even be described as a generation gap.
Local fans who come to shows are 35 and older, he said.

Young's Spotify statistics skew younger, with ages 24 to 37 making up his top listener demographic.
Young said he's up to the task of tackling two careers in one.
"I live to do music 24/7, all the time," he said. "It's a lifestyle.
It's a business. It's everything."
